Guangdong released the Compendium of Guangdong Intellectual Property Strategy (2007-2020) recently.  By 2010, Guangdong shall further beef up mass muscles in IPR and continue taking the lead in the country.  Guangdong By 2020, backed by a treasure of internationally completive IPRs, Guangdong's IPR development level would reach that of moderately developed countries.

With 43 articles in 11 chapters, the Compendium elaborates the significance, directions, basic principles, developmental objectives and strategic focuses of implementing the IPR strategy.  Guangdong will focus on eight tasks in a relevantly long period, encourage generation of IPRs, protect IPRs, facilitate commercialization of IPRs, strengthen administration, improve public services, cultivate talents, promote harmonious development and external cooperation and public awareness.

Establishing a mechanism suitable for innovation, a protection mechanism of multiple levels and full coverage, an efficient administration system, a sound policy support system, fully-functional service system.  Match the quality and quantity of self generated IPRs and brands with the level of economic and social development.  Significant upgrade of innovative power and industrial competitiveness.
